Professional Goals

As a life long learner I am eager to continue my marathon as both a nurse and an educator in the clinical and classroom setting. I desire to integrate the eight competencies from the  National League for Nursing into my repertoire as an educator. I will strive to understand the student, make learning easy to comprehend, build relationships with students and colleagues, evaluate goals and receive feedback graciously (determined to grow from my shortcomings), provide agencies with qualified nurses who provide safe and effective nursing care based on current research, and engage in scholarship activities to further the knowledge of nursing (NLN, 2007). Other short term goals include becoming a certified nurse educator and receiving a CCRN certificate from the American Association of Critical Care.
