Nursing Has No Limits

Nursing Careers are the key to a life time of learning
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:3

Nursing Education Portfolio

Welcome to my professional nursing portfolio portraying my future goals, accomplishments as a nurse educator according to the National League for Nursing (NLN) and Boyer's Model for scholarship. Here you can get a glimpse of my background in nursing education and my career achievements. My background in nursing began in 1993 as a graduate of Biola University with a BSN in Nursing as well as a Minor in Theology. I began working at the University of California in Irvine as a bedside nurse in the step-down telemetry unit and then transitioned to the burn intensive care unit in 2000. Here I work with the acute and critically ill adult, child and infant. I began working at Biola University in 2015 as a clinical instructor and now have taught all levels of nursing students within the program. I began my Master's program in 2015 when I started teaching at Biola and completed my Master's in Nursing Education at Grand CanyonUniversity, in 2016. I believe nursing is a unique calling dedicated to serving people in their time of suffering. I chose to be a nurse to make a difference in people's lives, in an effort to ease their pain and suffering, and bring comfort to the sick and dying. I choose to be an educator to impact students as a role model for wholistic care that is current and based on best practice. I look forward to this journey to influence, empower and enlighten.
